Maple Candied Walnuts

On my way to the grocery store my dad asked that I get candied walnuts because he likes them on his salad. “Buy them?! I’LL MAKE THEM!” And so I did!

The maple creates a crunchy caramel-like crunch on the nuts that makes these irresistable!

Raw Walnuts

Coconut Oil

Maple Syrup

Cinnamon Stick

Himalayan Sea Salt

1. Melt coconut oil in a large pan, add cinnamon stick.

2. Add walnuts and get all coated in the oil and allow to toast for a few minutes. (Keep heat at medium: you DON’T want to burn your nuts!)

3. Once nuts are a shade darker, add maple syrup and get all nuts covered. Cook for a few minutes until the maple naturally thickens.

4. Add sea salt on nuts.

5. Remove from pan and let cool on parchment paper.

You can eat these as they are, on a salad, or  in a granola parfait.

And of course, you can use any nut for this recipe!
