More chia ideas from NoshOnIt

Benefits: Everything good!

My two favorites recipes using chia are chia seed pudding and chia seed water. They are basically the same recipe just altered amounts of water. I keep mason jars of chia water in the fridge at all times and I enjoy especially after a workout!  The seeds are said to have been used by Aztec warriors to keep them hydrated over long periods of time. The seeds absorb about 70% of their size in water and then basically slow release as you digest…cool!! I would recommend you try different ratios of water:chia and find the texture that you like best. Don’t be afraid of messing this up: literally impossible! In pudding form, think of it like tapioca pudding texture; in water, think of it as little jelly balls giving you extra hydration! There are endless variations to these so as I make new versions I’ll post them but please share yours too!

Chai Chia ‘Pudding’:

3 cups Almond-Coconut Milk

1/2 cup Chia Seeds

1/4 tsp. coconut extract

1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

2 cinnamon sticks

1/4 tsp. ground cardamom

*I made this one a little more loose than regular pudding recipe. Drinking it is so satisfying!

Chia Seed Water:

3/4 cup Chia Seeds

8 cups Water/Coconut water

1 tsp. Rose Water (love!)*

1 squeezed Citrus (lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange)

Mint leaves*

Fruit (berries, mango, papaya, pineapple)*

*Optional

1. Put ingredients in jar. Let sit for at least 30 minutes then stir to breakdown any clumps of chia.

2. Enjoy!

*It is a very easy recipe and when I make the puddings or water I will add more liquid as I use it to make it last longer. Obviously the ratio of chia:liquid decreased but it still provides all the benefits of the seeds!
